This position reinforces the appropriate usage, awareness, and endorsement of products in dietary management. In addition, this position receives feedback from customers and communicates that feedback to the company. Two years of clinical experience with associate or bachelors degree required.

Veterinary Specialist Job Responsibilities:

  • Responds to contacts from veterinary professionals and company employees.
  • Assesses contacts needs to determine the first step in answering questions and call deposition.
  • Consults on product attributes and product indications.
  • Communicates the basic rationale and product selection and feeding techniques in non-complicated cases.
  • Helps with interpretation of company policies and service procedures to professional and paraprofessional customers.
  • Collects and logs pertinent case information into the designated case management system.
  • Assists in follow-up to support and reinforces oral consultation.
  • Assembles and distributes information relative to product changes, new products attributes, and current marketing promotional information.
  • Maintains current knowledge to assure high standards for accurate and consistent responses to internal and external customers.
  • Assists and interacts with other team members to meet or exceed established service level standards.

Veterinary Specialist Job Qualifications:

  • Two years of clinical experience with associate or bachelor degree
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good writing skills.
  • Proficient in medical terminology.
  • Proficient in typing to document calls.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Strong relationship building and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to sit and view a computer monitor for a continuous period of up to 2 hours.
  • Perform elementary nutritional arithmetic such as calculations of water and energy requirements and food requirements based on dietary caloric density.
  • Preferred qualifications include: RVT, LVT, or CVT with current license & 2 years clinical experience.
